Frequently Asked Questions
🖌️ Getting Involved
I’m not an artist – can I still join a mural project?
Absolutely. Our workshops and mural projects are designed for everyone - whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or you're an experienced artist. We make sure every session is welcoming, relaxed, and fun, so no matter your skill level, there's space for you to explore, create, and contribute.

How do I take part in a community mural or creative workshop?
You can join in many different ways – attending a community session, sharing your ideas, helping paint, or just stopping by to support. We often work with local partners like housing groups, schools and councils, so watch our socials or join our mailing list to hear when projects are happening near you.

Who can join your projects? Are they open to all ages?
Most of our projects are open to everyone, and we love working with all ages – from young children to older adults. Some sessions might focus on a specific group (like residents of a certain estate or young people), but we always make space for a wide range of voices.

🎨 About Our Work
What makes Co-Creative Connection’s approach different?
We put the community at the heart of everything. Our work is co-created – meaning we don’t come in with a fixed idea. Instead, we listen, invite stories and ideas, and build the artwork with the community every step of the way.

What is community-led art?
Community-led art is created by, with, and for the people it represents. Rather than just consulting, we involve participants meaningfully – from deciding themes to helping design and paint the final mural.
How do you decide what the murals will look like?
The designs are shaped through workshops where people share memories, stories, patterns, colours and ideas. Our artists then bring these together into a visual design, and we get feedback from the group before painting begins.

What kind of organisations do you work with?
We’ve worked with housing associations, schools, construction companies, councils, charities, healthcare providers, and more. We love partnering with people who want to create space for creativity and community voice.

How much does it cost to run a project with CCC?
Each project is unique, so costs vary depending on the scale, duration, materials and staff involved. We’re happy to chat about budgets and help you find a solution that works.
Do you offer one-off workshops or longer-term projects?
Both! Some of our work is a one-day creative session; others are multi-week mural journeys. We’ll work with you to co-create the right experience for your group or community.

💡 Creativity & Impact
What are the benefits of taking part in a mural or workshop?
People often leave our projects feeling more confident, connected, and proud of what they’ve created together. The impact goes far beyond the final artwork – it’s about the process and the people.

Yes – and we see it every day. When people co-create, they form bonds, share experiences, and feel more connected to their neighbours and environment.
