Network Community Poster Project

Celebrating Creativity Across the Railway Network

Welcome to a vibrant exhibition created by the railway community through a series of joyful, hands on design workshops delivered by Rose Hill at Co-Creative Connection in partnership with Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR). The ten final posters celebrate station heritage, local stories, and the power of community creativity.

About the Project

Participants from across the network took part in three online workshops exploring colour theory, mood boards, visual storytelling, composition, and design hooks. Each designer enjoyed a dedicated one to one session to refine their final artwork. The posters were created to be clear, bold, and instantly engaging.

Design Principles

• Strong visual hierarchy with a Primary Hook to catch the eye, a Secondary Hook to add context, and Supportive Elements to enrich the story
• Clear and direct calls to action
• Readable text, strong contrast, and a simple two font rule
• A minimum three centimetre margin for clarity and impact

The Exhibition

The work is shown in two formats. Ten A3 posters are displayed in the waiting room and ten striking Double Royal posters line Platform 1. This project marks the opening of the new Community Art Space at Bedford Midland station.

Following 7th November celebration the full exhibition is duplicated to Finsbury Park for an unveiling on 10th December 2025 in the Platform 7 waiting room.

Individual posters are to be displayed at their home stations including Bedford, Biggleswade, Eynsford, Three Bridges, Elephant and Castle, Finsbury Park, Dorking, Cambridge South, Cam Valley, Brighton and Victoria.
